Art Status

Wow, I love this new journal skin!  Thanks again to nikkittie for making it (^^)  Customizing a new skin for a new year of journals is so fun!  Er...that's not what I started this journal to talk about though, ha ha...

2014 has been a fabulous year so far.  Most things for me are going relatively well, which makes it easier to bear those things that aren't.  I think a lot of it is thanks to using HabitRPG.  It has kept me so ridiculously on task and productive, it's really unbelievable.  All I can think is, this app is my spoonful of sugar.  Things I dread and put off for ages as well as things I really want to do but have a hard time remembering, they're all getting done and enthusiastically!  Projects at my I.T. job, chores at home, healthy choices to build a better me, and of course, every aspect of my art life, from daily sketching to weekly inked drawings to full commission pieces, I'm banging away at them all like a dwarf in a mine!

Right now, I have several art goals for 2014.  Some are my self-set New Year's goals and some I picked up from HabitRPG Challenges:

• Draw something new every day.
• Complete a fully-inked drawing every week.
• Complete all standing commissions.
• Do not take on new commissions (conventions excepted).

Even though my free time is just as limited, my work schedule is just as fucked up, all the things that have plagued me for years are just as present, I'm really feeling 2014 as the year of art.  I want to keep this vibe going as long as possible.  Stay productive, stay creative, keep learning, keep improving, I'm feeling it all!
