I wanted to write a new journal for the new year! I've updated my Must List with new must watch, play, read, and listen items, and most obvious to someone who's followed my journal for a little while, I've changed my journal skin! This one is definitely the most colorful, bright skin I've used to date. I'm not sure if I can handle it, but I'm giving it a shot anyway XD
My 2010 in art went well, I think! I got A's in all of my classes, which included drawing, painting, and art history. I had fun selling my work in the artist alleys of three local conventions and my new Etsy shop is doing well enough. Best of all, I'm pretty sure I've continued to make progress with my art skills. My new improvement goal has been to include backgrounds in all of my non-commission artwork, even if it's just a simple textured color, unless the project benefits from or calls for a white background. I simply grew impatient with the sea of white that greeted me every time I saw my gallery here...
I've only realized today that 2010 was the year of the tiger, my year! Maybe that accounted for a bit of my good art luck ^^ Here's hoping the rabbit of 2011 is just as kind. Did you guys have a nice 2010? What artsy ambitions are you hoping to accomplish in the new year?
