So, we all made it through the End of Days foretold from our youth~
As a child, I was always excited at the prospect of living to see the so-called Mayan apocalypse, 21 December 2012. When the time came, I actually experienced an average day. Not to say I expected the end of the world but I think all the hype, positive and negative, that saturated the year leading up to it rather numbed me to the event. It was just another winter solstice for me. I wish it had been more exciting. I know it's not good to blame others but I can't help resenting people for not taking the day as an exciting, fun, this-day-has-been-talked-about-for-ages-and-only-we-get-to-see-it sort of event. All year hearing people trying to nay-say the event, as if it's idiotic to find significance in anything, really is a downer! I guess I'm just tired of those opinions infesting my world in general. Every time something fun comes around, there will be hordes of people to shout "You're stupid for being excited about this!" Screw you guys, I want to find fun, happiness, and excitement in every corner of my life!
Sorry, didn't intend to get into a rant about my distaste for unnecessary negativity (; ̄д ̄)
My goal for art this year is simple: draw in my sketchbook every day. I've already missed several days, lol. I've even been carrying my sketchbook everywhere with me in my purse! But I'm not going to stress out over a few missed days. I figure if I'm at least drawing SOMETHING several days a week, the point of this goal will be realized. I just want to make sure I don't hit a dry spell. I seem to go through cycles where I don't draw anything for weeks, especially if I don't have any commissions or other outside obligations. I do have #
AiagKikai to get me to draw at least once a month but that's not enough to keep the creative juices flowing and continue to hone my skills. I've got to draw every day to progress in the way I want.
I've been extremely busy in the past couple months, mostly thanks to the holidays, but it looks like I'll be kept busy for at least a few more months. I don't know when I'll have time to update next but I'll definitely be around! Have a great 2013, make it the best year yet!
P.S. My hubby and I have also been watching Star Trek: TNG lately!
Thank you for your encouragement for my goal ^^ I'm still not getting sketches in every day but I'm already sketching much more often than I have for the past several months!
TNG is my favorite series
