God dammit, why does it have to be so hard to choose a category...
What you see here is the final result of this: [link] My Oma commissioned me for this painting last October...o_o I hope she's not too mad about how long it took! But the original on which she wanted it based was not only very much smaller (this one is 9x12 inches while the original was 4x6), but was also slightly accidental in creation, so it was hard to replicate in a suitable fashion.
There was more I kept thinking I wanted to do, but there's so much...stuff in it that I decided to leave it alone and call it good.
Now I need to find something to mail it in...
(Ignore the title by the way, I hate making them up...)
Love the expression and perspective, it's full of longing and hope. It's a refreshing change from the cliche of a geisha surrounded by cherry blossums with a parasol, or smelling those cherry blossums, and despite the simplicity (or maybe bececause of it), the forest has depth and life, you conveyed the scattering of dying leaves wonderfully.
Thank you so much, I am speechless at your amazing comment! I appreciate the time you took to really look and say so many thoughtful things about this piece ^^
